February has arrived! Here's what's happening at the Museum. 

Summer Opportunity
Are you a student, or do you know of someone who is looking for a great summer work experience? We are presently looking for two Educational Programmer Students and one Collections Management Assistant to join our team.

Staff Member Welcome
Lori Cook has joined our team as a Museum Attendant! Lori has a degree in natural history and has worked in public engagement and educational programming at the Royal Ontario Museum and the Vancouver Aquarium. Prior to working for the Town, Lori worked in natural heritage conservation. Please join us in sending a warm welcome to Lori! 
New Community Collector Exhibit! 
Selected works by local carver Garry Reid will be on display at the Museum until March 31. Garry’s charming collection features handcrafted models of Collingwood’s iconic delivery wagons and vehicles, including Reid’s Superior Dairy, Seiggel’s Ice Delivery, Plater’s Delivery, and Smart Bros. Ltd. Florists.
Community Collectors' Night
Wednesday, February 26 at 7PM

The event will feature a live carving demonstration by Garry and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about his inspiration and process. Participants are encouraged to bring a carving from their own collection and photographs of Collingwood's other historic delivery vehicles.

In celebration of Black History Month, Sheffield Park Black History and Cultural Museum is hosting many events throughout the month of February.

Did you know that the Collingwood Museum is on the Family Literacy Map? Exploring the Literacy Map can give some great inspiration for educational activities, especially during strike days. The Collingwood Museum has lots of things for kids to see and do! Remember that guardians must remain with children at all times.
