Whitney Pomi has returned to JTNN as Substance Abuse and Community Outreach Specialist. She'll work to connect people to area resources while partnering with the MOST team, Sparks Police Department, and the Washoe County Detention Services Unit. She's in the process of establishing JTNN as a naloxone distribution site in Washoe County. The Parent Project's 10-week program aims to help parents of strong-willed adolescents ages 11-19 learn how to manage conflict in the home, manage expectations, and set rules and boundaries. A sampling of topics include poor school performance, alcohol and drug use, youth gangs, teen violence, and bullying. The class will be held virtually on Zoom from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday evenings beginning January 5 through March 9. Contact Britany at outreach@jtnn.org with questions. Register for the class here.
