Up There... Old Books for Young Readers

The sense of having nothing to fear but fear itself was never as lovably or humorfully apparent, in my opinion, than in Jon Stone's modern classic The Monster at the End of this Book (Little Golden Books, 1971). In the space of a few pages, Stone unmasks a simple, if exhilarating, story of self-acceptance that suggests our deepest fears might just lead to our deepest selves. Plus, it's fun to do the Grover voice. -Colin
