July Second Sunday Nature Walk: Greensboro Arboretum for Butterflies 7-10-16

Join the T. Gilbert Pearson Audubon Society for an afternoon butterfly walk on Sunday, July 10, in the Greensboro Arboretum. We’ll also keep an eye out for birds, of course!
As usual for our Second Sunday Nature Walks, we will meet at 1:45 pm in front of the Whole Foods Market in Friendly Shopping Center under the Sears sign between BB&T and Chick-Fil-A next the Friendly Ave. If you would prefer to meet us at the Arboretum, we will be in front of the education building at about 2:15. We expect to return to the shopping center by 5:00.
The Arboretum address is 401 Ashland Dr., Greensboro, NC. For information about the park, go to the official website:
Be sure to wear clothing appropriate for a hot, sunny day. You’ll appreciate a hat and comfortable footwear. Although the Arboretum has restrooms and a water fountain, bring plenty of water to drink during the walk. Other items you might bring are binoculars, a camera, and a butterfly field guide if you have them.
TGPAS nature walks are open to the public. Family and friends are welcome. No pets, please. This will be a joint nature walk with the Triad Chapter of the Carolina Butterfly Society.
RSVP: Please let the trip contact person know if you plan to participate. We have no good way of letting people know of changes in times and meeting places at the last minute. The trip coordinator will contact those who have signed up to let them know of any changes. This will help avoid you being annoyed or embarrassed if you show up and no one is there. The trip will be cancelled if the weather forecast is for rain most of Sunday afternoon.
Trip contact: Dennis Burnette,
