Dear Friends,

On Pentecost, June 5, my son, Asher (age 15), and I set out for Rome. We left Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) (see photo above) for a three week pilgrimage. From the moment we got in line for security check in Newark, we could see the fruits of our prayers asking Our Blessed Mother to be our guide. The person in front of us in the security line was a priest who is in charge of evangelization for the Diocese of Newark, New Jersey. Indeed this trip so far has been peppered with a multitude of providential meetings.

The travel was difficult, but we arrived on Monday, June 6, in time to make our way to St. Peter's Basilica for their last daily Mass of the day. The sun was streaming through the stained glass window above the altar. It has indeed been a great blessing to spend the Octave of Pentecost in Rome.

Our daily uniform has been the Children's Rosary T-shirts. Asher and I wear these each day. It is amazing to see the smiles we get from total strangers as we wear the image of Our Lady of the Children's Rosary across our shirt. We also carry the Children's Rosary book with us, as we want always to be prepared to share these as gifts. We see these little books as seeds that we share during our travels. We put our hope and trust in God that they can bring fruit. We did very little planning before we left on the trip and rather left the days open to Divine Providence. This has been a great blessing and each day has been filled to the brim, and we have met the most wonderful people.

Children's Rosary Featured in WMOF Digital Expo

The World Meeting of Families created a Digital Expo to allow those unable to attend the meeting in Rome to see some of the featured apostolates that support the family. The Children's Rosary was chosen to be featured. The complete Digital Expo can be seen HERE.

Our Featured video can be seen below:

Papal Mass

Yesterday we attended the Papal Mass for the World Meeting of Families in St. Peter's Square. Our whole Children's Rosary delegation attended, which included five of us.

The sentiment that kept welling up in my heart was an appreciation for the beauty of our Church. Not the physical structure but the living Church and the beauty of our liturgy, which is a tender gift from Our Lord. At the conclusion of the Mass, it was announced that the next meeting will be in 2028. However, in 2025, a "Jubilee of Families" will take place in Rome. We look forward to returning to this city in three years. It has been a grace filled three weeks. Thank you to all who have prayed for us.

Rosaries to Tanzania

One evening in St. Peter's Square, we met a group of priests. They are originally from India but one of the priests, Fr. Sheejan Kallarakkal, works as a missionary in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. He was very interesting in initiating Children's Rosary groups in the thirteen schools his religious order runs in Tanzania. To help these efforts we met him before our departure from Rome and gave him more than four hundred handmade rosaries we had brought with us to Rome. We plan to also coordinate a larger shipment of handmade rosaries in a barrel to Tanzania.
We have made a tremendous number of contacts at the WMOF, with many of them interested in starting a Children's Rosary and receiving materials to help with these efforts. Please consider making a donation so we can immediately set to work when we get home sending out packages to those who have made requests.
Donations can be made electronically HERE.

An Upcoming Trip to Austria

Tomorrow we will be leaving Rome and we will be traveling to Vienna, Austria, where we will be staying at Heiligenkreuz, which is about fifteen minutes outside of Vienna. It is the second oldest Cistercian monastery in the world and the oldest still functioning Cistercian monastery. The monastery serves as a seminary. Please know that all of you involved with the Children's Rosary will be in our prayers during our trip. Please keep us in your prayers.

Trip to Scotland

We will conclude the trip with a visit to Scotland, where we will be visiting Bishop John Keenan. We are currently planning an event where we can meet with those interested in the Children's Rosary. This will occur on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at St. Mirin's Cathedral in Paisley, Scotland. There will be First Saturday Mass with the Bishop, a Rosary, and a talk delivered by me at 9:45 a.m., followed by some remarks by Bishop Keenan. We are very grateful to Helen Border, who is helping to coordinate all the local arrangements of this event. We will conclude with fellowship and tea with biscuits. As Bishop Keenan led his diocese in January 2021 using our Child Consecration book and has continued meeting daily for a live Rosary using the Children's Rosary book, we hope to meet many individuals who we have been united to in prayer. It is our hope that many may come even from other regions of the British Isles and Ireland if they are able to attend.
Thank you all.
Your Friend in Christ,
Blythe

Watch this short 3 min invitation video and hear from children who are part of the Children's Rosary.

The second video explains how to run a Children's Rosary group meeting in a school. This was filmed in Birmingham, Alabama at a school that has been holding a weekly school-wide Children's Rosary since May of 2017. The kids help to demonstrate how meetings can be held in the classroom, in a chapel and outside. VIEW VIDEO HERE.
