The ladies from Hope House enjoy having guests come over. Recently, they had the opportunity to host the junior high girls from First Covenant Church for a fun game night. They played jumbo-sized Dominoes and jumbo-sized UNO together. Many laughs and a little friendly competition were had by all!
Many of the residents from Mary's House, Joseph's House, and Hope House had the amazing opportunity to attend the Tim Tebow Night to Shine Prom again this year! The residents enjoyed a delicious meal, walked the red carpet, rode in a limo, danced, sang, played games, took pictures at the photo booth, and were crowned kings and queens of the prom!
The Mary's House ladies recently enjoyed an afternoon at the Grand Rapids Public Museum in downtown Grand Rapids.
Alex recently took the reins in the Faith House kitchen, preparing a cavatini dinner for the residents and staff. Alex showed his passion for cooking by creating this hearty pasta dish, which is much like a deconstructed pepperoni pizza.
Great work, Alex, it looks delicious!
Through Arts in Motion Passport Classes, the Hope House ladies have been expanding their knowledge about the different states of our country. Each class involves an interactive cultural experience such as art, music, or dance to learn about and celebrate the state being studied. The ladies have "explored" Alaska through a whale themed art project, and they have learned how to hula dance as part of their study of Hawaii.
The ladies from Hope House have been staying active during the cold winter months through participating in their very own Hope House Winter Fitness Challenge! Each day they have an opportunity to earn points by doing various exercises including dancing, shooting baskets, cardio drumming, jumping on the trampoline, riding the bike, and walking on the treadmill. The resident with the most points at the end of the challenge will win the grand prize, which is a one-on-one coffee get-together with the staff member of their choice.
