LODGING SECTOR UPDATE
U.S. weekly hotel occupancy slipped a bit further during the second week of November. At the same time, normal seasonal fluctuations continued in China and a lockdown decline worsened in Europe.
STR and Tourism Economics slightly upgraded the final 2020 U.S. hotel forecast, but 2021 remains functionally unchanged as the early implementation of a vaccine was already built into the forecast assumptions for Q4 2020/Q1 2021. Full recovery in revenue per available room (RevPAR) is unlikely until 2024.
