"The analytics function in hotels is still relatively new. Through the years, industry functions like sales, marketing and revenue management have come together to drive awareness and education across their disciplines, but there has yet to be a similar forum for hospitality industry analytics leaders. This roundtable aimed to fill this gap, bringing together analytics leaders from brands, management companies, ownership groups, vendors, OTAs, academia and consulting to address a question facing their companies: How do we advance the supplier’s analytical expertise, such that those who are closest to the guest experience, can manage it more efficiently and effectively?"

The State of Gender Eqaulity in the Travel and Hospitality Industry

A collaboration between Women Leading Travel and Hospitality and NAPCO Research

This survey-based study focused on the status of DEI efforts in the travel and hospitality industry to uncover the ways organizations are addressing gender equality, while providing a reference point to measure future progress.

Findings showed that specialized training was the most tangible action to support workforce diversity, and  mentoring programs, unconscious bias training, pay equity, and neutral resume review practices, should also play a more prominent role at companies and organizations.

Using data from CHR Corporate Advisory Board Member AirDNA, Reuters found that "average daily rates for short-term rentals across Mexico City jumped 27% to $93 in August 2022, compared to August 2019," due in part to nearly two million foreigners who "touched down at the Mexico City International Airport in the first half of 2022."

U.S. hotel group demand was a significant driver of performance again during the week ending 24 September, accounting for nearly all the growth in weekday demand as transient declined week over week.
Global occupancy during for the week ending 24 September increased to 68%. Occupancy in the top 10 countries (based on supply) ranged from 83% in Italy to 57% in China. China was a significant boost to the global occupancy figure as the country’s level increased 7.7 percentage points week over week and accounted for 79% of the total weekly demand increase seen outside the U.S.
