Weekly Lodging Sector Update

While hotel demand increased 224,000 rooms from the week of July 4, it looks as week-over-week demand increases have slowed from roughly 800,000 per week to roughly 440,000 per week over the past month.
Florida has been an obvious market of focus in the early stages of U.S. recovery as beach locations have driven up demand, especially on weekends. As COVID-19 cases in the state have risen, however, hotels have booked less guests. The only exception over the past two weeks has been Orlando.
