U of MN Campus Reunification and Family Assistance Center Training Exercise
Exercise Details
Date: Tuesday, August 9
Time: 8:00am-12:30pm
Location: St. Paul Campus, Continuing Education & Conference Center
Goals:
- Build awareness among Behavioral Health Response Strike Team members about Family Assistance Center (FAC) roles
- Introduce Logistics Strike Team and Behavioral Health Response Team to the survivor/family/friends reunification process following a mass casualty incident
- Exercise MRC member notification process of activation of campus Family Assistance Center
- Perform physical set up of FAC (Logistics Strike Team), including various FAC stations/areas
- Test FAC staff staging procedures, including staff check-in process with a focus on stringent security practices/procedures
Participants: Members of the Logistics Strike Team and the Behavioral Health Response Strike Team, MRC Leadership Team & AHC Office of Emergency Response Staff
Shifts:
- Logistics Strike Team
- First Shift: 8:00am-11:30 (First shift may choose to stay for lunch)
- Second Shift: 10:00am to 12:00pm (Second shift may choose to stay for lunch, following their shift)
- Behavioral Health Response Strike Team
*AS OF FRIDAY, JULY 15, WE HAVE 8 OPEN LOGISTICS POSITIONS, 3 FOR THE 1st SHIFT AND 7 FOR THE SECOND SHIFT, INCLUDING 2 REGISTRATION CLERK POSITIONS FOR THE 2nd SHIFT.
*WE HAVE 40 OPEN BEHAVIORAL HEALTH STAFF POSITIONS OPEN.

Reunification and Family Assistance Center Training Exercise Q & A
Q. How do I register to participate in the training exercise?
A. Members of the Logistics Strike Team and Behavioral Strike Team recieved an email on July 11th with instructions on how to access Shiftboard. Shiftboard is the scheduling system utilized by the MRC.
Q. I am not on either the Logistics Strike Team or the Behavioral Health Response Strike Team. Am I eligible to participate in this training exercise?
A. You may register for participation in this exercise once you contact the MRC Coordinator expressing your interest in joining either the Logistics Strike Team or the Behavioral Response Strike Team.
Q. Should I bring a snack or lunch?
A. A continental breakfast will be served during the Logistics 1st shift. A full lunch will be served to all exercise participants who choose to stay for the lunch.
Q. Are there any requirements for joining either of the strike teams?
A. Click here for information regarding the Logistics Strike Team member roles and responsibilities. Members of the Behavioral Health Response Strike Team must have behavioral health professional experience or be a graduate student working towards licensure in a behavioral health related profession. Q. How much time should I plan on being at the exercise?
A. Logistics Strike Team members may choose from two shifts. The first shift starts at 8:00am and goes until 11:30am. The second shift starts at 10:00am and goes until 12:00pm. The Behavioral Health Team shift is from 9:45am to 12:30pm

Members of this strike team are responsible for resource management before and during U of M MRC deployments, exercises, and training events. The success of any MRC event begins with the skilled members of the MRC Logistics Strike Team.
