"Arsenic and Old Lace" is the story of Mortimer Brewster, a young reporter, drama critic and member of the venerable old Brewster family of Brooklyn, New York, whose decedents arrived on the Mayflower. He is living a happy life as the play begins, with little to complicate it… except perhaps that by today the Brewster family has become a clan of insane murderers.

This Broadway hit is billed as a dark comedy, but the emphasis is decidedly on the comedy.

Mortimer, the sane member of the family, has a steady job at a prominent New York newspaper. He has fallen in love with Elaine Harper, the beautiful daughter of the preacher next door and they become engaged. Mortimer visits his sweet spinster aunts to announce the good news. He always knew that his family had a bit of a mad gene, but on this visit his world is turned upside down when he realizes the secret they have been hiding for years!

The play’s action all takes place on the night when Mortimer’s maniacal brother, Jonathan, returns to the family home. Mortimer must rally to help his aunts and protect his fiancé - all while trying to keep his own sanity. And, of course, there’s Mortimer’s crazy Uncle Teddy to contend with… he believes he is President Teddy Roosevelt, and has been overseeing construction of the Panama Canal in the basement of his spinster sisters’ fine old home.

Directed by Todd A. Pullan, the Little Theatre cast of “Arsenic and Old Lace” includes: Luanne Wanamaker, Paulette Muzacz, Wayne Hutton, Peter Larson, Kimberly Larson, Andrew Liuzzo Sr., Tom Liuzzo, Brian Andrews, Bill Paul, John Vine, Adam Hughes, Carl Liuzzo, Uriel Isaacovich and Walt Pickut.

Opening on Friday, November 11th, there are five chances to enjoy this hilarious production: November 11, 12, 18, 19, and 20 with Friday and Saturday performances beginning at 7:30 PM and the Sunday matinee curtain at 2:00 PM.
