News for Friend!

September 2018 ~ Next Issue: October 2018

A Grand Time in Connecticut!

Dear Friend,

Wow, we so enjoyed our time in Connecticut attending the opening festivities for our exhibition Exquisite Miniatures at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center.  There are more entertaining and in-depth stories by Rachelle on our blog. (see the posts below) For now, here are a few pictorial highlights:
Jillian Casey and Rachelle Siegrist with a John Singer Sargent portrait
Jillian Casey, the museum's Curator of Collections & Exhibitions
and Rachelle with a John Singer Sargent portrait.  We were both honored and humbled to learn that this work, along with others by Thomas Eakins and Raphael Soyer was temporarily taken down to install Exquisite Miniatures!  We so enjoyed the personal tour of the Museum's collections especially all the historical portrait miniatures!
Rachelle Siegrist in the Yale Center for British Art
Rachelle enjoying the Yale Center for British Art.  We spent a full day at the Yale Museums and exploring the campus and city of New Haven.

Rachelle Siegrist with a Gutenberg Bible
A real treat was getting to see up close a rare copy of the first printed book: A Gutenberg Bible from 1455!  Those who have heard Wes' lecture on the history of miniature art know our particular fascination with illuminated manuscripts.

Here are some of our latest available paintings:
Carolina Sunshine by Rachelle Siegrist
"Carolina Sunshine" by Rachelle, 3.5 x 3.5 inches
Common Collared Lizard by Wes Siegrist
"Common Collared Lizard" by Wes, 2.5 x 3.5 inches
More new paintings can be seen on the website and on our Facebook pages.
Siegrist Exquisite Miniatures Exhibition at the Stamford Museum
The opening reception was a hit with over 70 coming out to see the artwork and meet us!
From now until January 1st, 2019, the tour will be at  The Stamford Museum & Nature Center in Stamford, CT.

We'll be updating the exhibition with new panels and artwork before it opens on January 20th, 2019 at The Hickory Museum of Art, Hickory, NC.

Would you like to see Exquisite Miniatures in your area?  Please feel free to suggest museum venues especially if you have a contact relationship with the staff!

Paintings are being sold on the tour and shipped to collectors at the close of that venue. Copies of our books are usually available in the museum gift shops too! The EM Tour is the only place where you can still purchase copies of Exquisite Miniatures by Wes & Rachelle Siegrist (Less than a dozen copies remain!)
