News for Friend!

May 2021 ~ Next Issue: June 2021

Upcoming Plans and Adventures

Dear Friend,

It is with great relief, and slightly sore arms, that we thankfully received our second vaccination shot this week. We hope to potentially fly to some SAA openings later this fall. For now, we're staying close to home and enjoying yard projects, kayaking and time in our garden and greenhouse. We are looking forward to camping later this month with some friends.

As some of you already know, we have made some life decisions and have began acting on them in earnest now. Foremost, we plan to move froWes Siegrist fishing with familym Tennessee next year. No, we haven't decided where yet and the SAA may influence our direction at least temporarily but we'll share more once we know our plans. For now, we've been selling everything we don't plan to move with us in the way of furniture and household items. Our goal is to empty out most of the house to make it easier for us to remodel the rooms that we adapted to use as our studio and framing area. Like our miniatures, we're working a wee bit at a time to avoid a last minute rush. With the plan to move, and the condition of our vehicle, we did formally retire from our multi-day in-person shows. After 33 years of doing them, we will miss the interactions but as we noted above, we'll still be at public events for some of our shows. While our plans can change, we currently expect to be in our current home until this time next year.

So, we're striving to
enjoy each day here in TN as the weather allows and have been kayaking and fishing enough that our freezer is full of fish for the summer! The garden is also doing fabulous thanks to YouTube learning and extra time on our hands. Painting at our easels is also still happening and we've submitted works to more shows with fingers crossed for favorable results. Thanks to all who recently added works to your collection or for gifts to others from our Special Offer or at our current shows. We have updated the website and the Special Offer removing works that have sold. ~ Wes

Siegrist garden
The hydroponic garden is doing great and we are still eating from our first batch of lettuce plants now two months later. We have have had some form of garden for the past 30 years and look forward to having a larger one including a bigger greenhouse when we move!

It's about time to transplant the green beans before they overtake the greenhouse!

We took advantage of some lovely weather to use our cinder block rocket stove to cook a bunch of potatoes and onions. It's just amazing how these stoves work considering small sticks we picked up in the yard cooked our food for free! Rachelle did a short video (Reel) of me cooking and put it on Instagram. Funny, but it's our most viral video yet with 41,000 views as of this writing!
