The Miniature Paintings of Wes & Rachelle Siegrist

News for Friend!

March 2019 ~ Next Issue: April 2019

Dear Friend!
It feels great to have another successful Southeastern Wildlife Exposition under our belt and to be safely back home.  We opted not to do the NatureWorks show this year mostly due to falling ill the past three years after doing the back-to-back shows.  It feels good to have the extra time to rest up and it is exciting to see Spring flowers and trees starting to bloom in our yard.  Several days have been really mild with temps into the 70s.   Of course, we know there's still plenty of cold upcoming but if it brings some snow for sledding we'll be just fine with it!

Wes Siegrist with crew that installed our new HVAC systemWe had to get a new HVAC system installed recently and have hopefully repaired the leak in our basement that was providing us with a free indoor wading pool.  The incessant rains set new records for February with nearly 13 inches.  Considering what others are dealing with our issues were minor. (There's more on this in the blog posts)

We have quite a few shows upcoming so we're currently deciding where to send which paintings.  Trying to select appropriate subjects is mostly a lost cause so the choices are generally made by the works being new to the show and fitting within the specific guidelines.  We do sometimes paint brand new works for an exhibition but usually we try to produce the paintings during times when we're not rushed and feeling recently inspired by the subject.

This is currently one of the best times of the year to commission us for special paintings.  We do them as we receive them and are typically able to produce 6-12 per year depending on our schedule.  A dog, Carolina wrens and reproducing a historical painting in miniature are three that are presently in the works.

The exhibition will be at The Hickory Museum of Art, in Hickory, NC until March 17th so don't miss it if you are in the area.  Exquisite Miniatures will be on display April 1st – August 15th of this year at The Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum, in Oradell, NJ (greater New York City Metropolitan area) and then from September 15th – December 3rd at the Kennedy-Douglass Center For The Arts, Florence, AL.  The advertisement above will be featured in Western Art Collector soon. We're delighted to announce the Tour's 38th venue: The Elliott Museum in Stuart, FL.  We're planning to be at the reception for the exhibition when it opens there in September of 2021.

Would you like to see Exquisite Miniatures in your area?  Please feel free to suggest museum venues especially if you have a contact relationship with the staff!

Paintings are being sold on the tour and shipped to collectors at the close of that venue. Copies of our The World of Nature In Miniature book are usually available in the museum gift shops too!
