It's Garden and Show Season Again!
Dear Friend,
We hope this newsletter once again finds each of you safe, healthy, and enjoying life with the onset of Spring for those in our hemisphere. We have been so happy to have the green leaves and blooms back outside even though Winter is still trying to reassert itself over the next few nights with below freezing temperatures. Rachelle has been busy painting on her latest commission and I've been kept active with various SAA shows and potentially exciting news in the future. It did feel great to be busy again with framing and shipping paintings out to upcoming exhibitions. All of these will be online so be sure to check them out via the links below.
So, did you learn something new during the pandemic if you had unusual free time? With mine, aside from doing house projects I availed myself to YouTube to learn Kratky hydroponics as well as general gardening tips so we've been enjoying fresh lettuce over the winter and are now about to transplant everything to the greenhouse and garden. I've also taught myself a variety of things pertaining to our financial retirement that seemed too perplexing and time-consuming before and we've both been really loving watching videos on farmsteads, house building, living in an RV or tiny home and general travel, which are all ideas and directions we may go in our future.
The hydroponic garden is all growing in recycled containers. The larger lettuce has been harvested repeatedly over the past month while the rest were recently transplanted.
Our garden "babies" are all growing here in the studio beside me although they're moved to the living room window sill when the sun is shining. We have peppers, eggplant, basil, Thai basil, parsley, dill, and cilantro currently growing. More will be planted soon now that the weather is getting better!
We do hope to get our vaccinations this month and if all goes well, we'll likely be flying to at least one reception later this Fall and will of course, announce our attendance here for those that live in the area. Our other trips are still pending.
~ Wes

We have now completed four Presidential portrait miniatures for the Woolaroc Museum in Bartlesville, OK. You can see a time-lapse video of Rachelle painting President Biden on YouTube via the link below.
