Hello Friend!

Welcome to Periodically - your quarterly peek into the wonderful world of Eco Femme with exclusive news, tips, resources and more!

Since our last newsletter, Eco Femme the office next door! We now have our whole team in a 2-room office space. After putting up new furniture and fresh paint (see the bright orange!), it felt like we were in a different place though we stayed in the same building. Guess what was the extra perk to moving? It gave us the occasion for a well deserved "spring cleaning" and decluttering of our office!
Our team is always in a state of 'flow' (pretty appropriate considering our business!), with volunteers coming and going and new roles being created. The team has grown in recent months, not including the two Eco Femme babies!

Here is our current team:
(left to right) Pavi (accounts), Celia (marketing), Maanasi (nappy range), Laura (communication), Sudha (packing), Lakshmi (pads for sisters), Jessamijn (for-profit team leader), Kalvi (marketing), Kathy (not-for-profit team leader), Melanie (marketing), Vasuki (packing), Harishini (pad for pad facilitator)
*not pictured Ramani (packing and quality control) and Valli (pad for pad coordinator)
Our ambassador, Jane, and founder of Woman's Wheel has just set off on a #MagicalMenstrualTour across the USA. We interviewed her to learn more abut her trip and what inspired it on our BLOG.

Pad for Pad...

Eco Femme's flagship adolescent girls program - Pad for Pad - has expanded over the last year, scaling up to reach new geographies via an ever expanding network of partnerships across India.  Click HERE to learn more about our progress towards targets over the last year and other milestones such as our impact assessment on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) with adolescent girls in our bioregion, launch of our facilitators guide for conducting MHM sessions with adolescent girls and our plans for further expansion in the coming year!

Just for laughs...

It was delight to be part an event put on by Pondicherry Uni in April. Our presentation was well received & a lively discussion followed. Both men & women took part in the discussion raising concerns, doubts, fears, as well as giving their ideas  about marketing, design, the environment and health. Issues of cultural stigma, what it means to be a women and how to take care of our health were also discussed. The talk given by Dr. Veena. P from JIPMER on the physiological process of menstruation was very informative. A short documentary of Eco Femme created by the students was shown. Kudos to the student organisers of this event, as it was certainly a successful delve in to deep issues affecting women today and has surely left the attendees thinking (and hopefully taking action) about it!
April 22nd was Earth Day. We celebrated with a week long campaign across our social media ending with a pad stitching event in Auroville alongside Sankalpa who brought along their Art Cart. It was a fun afternoon and a great way to share our love for the earth, you can see photos from the day HERE.

Monthly tip...

Some of the team tried out the Aviva Method at a recent workshop here in Auroville. Check it out to learn new ways to manage your period!

Spotlight on...

We love the work Pasand, based out of Bangalore, are doing! They have developed fantastic educational programs that "help students to understand puberty and personal hygiene, examine gender norms, and to be safe and happy on their journey through adolescence." We are proud to partner with them for pad for pad program.
