The School for Contemporary Dance and Thought (SCDT) is delighted to present Jörg Müller, a performance artist, acrobat, and juggler from Monoblet, France. Müller is visiting Northampton en route to the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), to perform with French based choreographer Yoan Borgeois. Müller invented a new form of juggling which prohibits the fall without denying the accident. Müller will present: Mobile, a dynamic and brilliant thirty-minute performance with tubular chimes suspended from the ceiling. He will include young local dancers from SCDT’s company Hatchery in the show as well! SCDT offers master class with Müller on Friday Sept 30 at 10 am.
Jörg Müller, juggler, graduated in 1994 from the Centre National des Arts du Cirque in Châlons en Champagne, France. While there he created « les tubes » with Mads Rosenbeck and the year after « mobile » a movement/manipulation work utilizing suspended resonant tubes. In 2001 he created his latest tube work « c/o » a 25-minute performance in a 9 ft. tall glass tube filled with water. In 2003 he creates the « Performance Research Experiment #1 (P.R.E. #1) » with Jess Curtis, a performance between circus and dance. He started recently a research around balance. As a circus artist he has toured extensively with Cirque Plume, Compagnie Cahin-Caha in « chiencrU » with Martin Schwietzke and Roland Auzet.
His path has equally included work with a number of choreographers. Notably in the works of Pierre Doussaint, Francois Verret, Haim Adri, Julie Nioche, Jess Curtis and Mark Tompkins. Since 2006 he is a Feldenkrais Practitioner.
