Next Meeting - Saturday, March 5th, 9am to Noon
Sump Memorial Library
222 North Jefferson St., Papillion, Nebraska, 68046
Item 1 - Show and Tell - I'll give a short update on the design of the control panels for Harvey Swanger's L&S Railroad. All members are encouraged to bring a project, completed or in-progress, to present and discuss with the group. This usually results in great conversations and often is the best part of the meeting. Presentations may need to be short, depending on participation. If there is sufficient interest in a project a clinic can be scheduled at a future meeting.
Item 2 - Call for Nominees - for the division officer positions. This year we'll need to elect a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Paymaster and Clerk. You'll want to be there. A few years ago I missed a meeting of the Omaha Woodworker's Guild and got elected president. Ryan would like to keep nominations open through the end of March and run the election in April and May.
Item 3 - Business Meeting - There will be a short (hopefully) business meeting to discuss the destination of the HO modular group's DCC system. Also Dennis Hansel has some ideas about a possible members-only swap meet.
Registration is open for this year's region convention. Sign-up for some activities is limited so go now to the convention web site and find out all of the details. June 2-5 is right around the corner. Make your plans now!
2016 Mid-Continent Region Convention
Last month's meeting was packed with info. We started with a clinic on Getting started with JMRI PanelPro. This was followed by a great Show and Tell. Bob Albano shared info about upgrading tank cars.
Prospective member Hank Kunneman shared photos of the spectacular scenery on his railroad. Hank also expressed his need for some help with track and wiring.
And finally, several of us attended the Lincoln Train Show where a few of our members worked hard to fire a spark in the next generation of model railroaders.
See you at the meeting, gs
