An Bhlarna Abu!

Footballers off to a winning start...

Our Junior footballers had a great start to their league campaign defeating Canovee last Sunday on a scoreline 1-6 to 0-8 . It was a gutsy performance by the team showing a lot of spirit and determination to grind out a result.

The Junior's next league outing is scheduled for Sunday the 15th of March against Donoughmore.

Club Message - From A Players Perspective - Joe Jordan

"I always find this to be a most special time of year. As March draws near, with it come the hopes and expectations of a new season. It's difficult to express that distinctive feeling that arrives when the evening's light shines more brightly and temperatures rise by a few degrees. The gruel of winter is replaced by the thrill and excitement of a long summer of hurling and football in our famous village.

Last Sunday we commenced our football year with a hard fought win over Canovee. This Sunday we begin our hurling journey again with our first league game against Meelin. As always, as a group of players, we look forward to the year ahead with great hope and significant determination.

I would like to wish all our teams the best for 2015 and thank the people of Blarney for their continued support. Rock on 2015!!!

An Bhlarna Abu!"

Upcoming Fixtures...

We have recently updated our web site to display all fixtures and results directly from Cork GAA, Muskerry GAA and Rebel Og in real time. This means all Blarney fixtures and results are in one place as soon as they become available.

Please check closer to the date confirming all fixture details.

The earliest game of hurling in Blarney documented was in 1770. It is chronicled in a manuscript written in 1831 by the then Parish Priest, Fr. Matt Horgan.
