At our recent AGM, Blarney GAA Club was delighted to be presented with the Paddy Cremin “Adult Player Of The Year Perpetual Trophy” by Sheila Cremin, wife of the late Paddy Cremin. The club are very grateful to the Cremin family for this kind gesture and look forward to commemorate Paddy’s wonderful legacy for many years to come.

The 2014 recipient was goalkeeper Paul Hallissey after his outstanding year for the Premier Intermediate Hurling team.

Blarney GAA helped raise a whopping €21,000 for Cystic Fibrosis. The Build4Life/Cystic Fibrosis run was an overwhelming success and raised much needed funds for the Cork University Hospital.

"I want to extend an absolutely massive thank you to Blarney GAA club.

The event really would not have been possible without the provision of facilities, exceptional organisation and general goodwill of all involved.

It was beyond generous and we will always appreciate it." - Peter Ahern, former Blarney GAA player

Big thank you to all those who took part, volunteered and donated.

Blarney will play Kilworth in the first round of the 2015 Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship.

“It’s an intriguing draw, we haven’t played Kilworth very often but any games against them have been very close contests.

Kilworth have a very good side and have made major strides in recent years. We had a reasonably good year ourselves in 2014 and we are determined to build on that progress in the coming year.

Knowing who you are facing in the first round is great to focus the mind and we are all looking forward to the coming season with the June Bank Holiday weekend never far from our thoughts.” - Michael O'Mahony

Over the last number of weeks club volunteers have been giving their time to prepare our new gym for kit out.

We want to thank all those involved who helped in any way and we encourage everyone to support the club to get this latest facility development fully operational.

St Stephen's Day

We are holding our annual St Stephen's Day castle walk and Poc Fada again this year.

The day begins at noon with the walk through the grounds of the Blarney Castle. The walk is opened to all ages and everyone from the community is most welcome to attend.

Following the walk there will be refreshments served in the clubhouse.

Later in the afternoon the Poc Fada takes place, starting at around 2pm. The course runs from the gully to the Waterloo Inn along side the River Martin. The Poc Fada is kindly sponsored by Blarney Sofa Factory.

We are looking for stewards to assist on the day. Please get in touch if you are available that afternoon.

Again everybody is welcome for what is always a fun afternoon.
