Employee Transportation Coordinators,

We hope you are having an active and enjoyable winter! As the days get longer (and soon, warmer!) we can all look forward to getting out of our cars more often and spending more time outdoors!

CATMA is planning our next Spring ETC Lunch & Learn Event for April 30. We will send out invitations in a few weeks. In the meantime we wanted to let you know about some local transportation news and events!

Here are a few sneak peaks:

  • Member Profile - Log and track your commutes; Calculate your carbon and $ savings.
  • Transportation Resource Maps - Find bus stops, CarShare Vermont pods, bike racks, walking routes and more to plan your commute.
  • Local Transportation Updates - Latest News & Events impacting your commute.

SAVE THE DATE - April 30, 2015 (11:30-1:30)

CATMA's Spring ETC Lunch & Learn

We are planning our next Spring ETC Event, and we have already lined up some great guest speakers and activities. Based on your feedback, we will devote more time at this event for group discussions on the transportation issues that matter to you! Please let us know what issues, topics and specific questions you'd like to address with your fellow ETCs.

Need some ideas on how to reduce parking demand or increase employee benefits?
Have some ideas on how to make alternative commuting easier for businesses and their employees? Have some thoughts on strengthening the ETC Network?

Send us your preferences for topics you'd like to see addressed by the Network and we will compile an agenda of discussion items to discuss as a group in April.

The first item we'd like to discuss is the best way to facilitate intra-ETC Network communication in coordination with the launch of CATMA's new website. Would ETCs like to see a Network Message Board or a Listserv for direct and group conversations? Are there other tools that can enhance Network cooperation and resource sharing?

We look forward to hearing your suggestions!

Fall 2014 ETC Event Highlights

What a great event it was!

Our Fall ETC Event focused on motivating Behavior Change at the workplace and was a huge success! We had our best attendance, and welcomed several new ETC's as first-time participants.

We also heard about the impressive cultures being cultivated amongst employees at CATMA Member organizations Seventh Generation and the University of Vermont Medical Center. Thanks again to Chris Lyon and Cindy MacKechnie!

Attendees were also able to hone their ETC skills via CATMA's new, interactive training tool, and three lucky winners took home some excellent prizes just in time for the Holidays!

Please plan to join us again this Spring, as we continue to enhance and expand this wonderful Network!

Local Motion Everyday Bicycling Project

FREE workshops for your employees

An Everyday bicycle rider doesn't necessarily ride their bike every day - in fact, most do not. Everyday bicycle riders use their bicycles to do those everyday trips that we all make, from going grocery shopping, getting to work, or even picking up the kids from school. It's about making the choice to leave your car behind, when you can, in favor of getting outside, exercising, and saving gas!

What Kinds of Workshops are there?

• Basic Everyday Bicycling — 30 - 60 minutes long
• On-Street Ride — 60 - 90 minutes long
• Route Planning — 30 - 60 minutes long
• One-on-One Coaching — 30 - 60 minutes long
• Winter Bike Commuting — 30 - 60 minutes long
• Basic Bicycle Mechanics — 60 - 90 minutes long

Flyers, brochures, and low-cost bells, lights, and food provided at EVERY workshop. Best of all, Workshops are FREE!
