Sports Community – Free Training and Resources for our Stonnington Sports Clubs

We are excited to share with you a new community sport initiative to support our local grassroots sporting clubs.

The City of Stonnington and Sports Community have teamed up to provide all Stonnington sports clubs the ability to access FREE resources, educational tools and online seminars designed specifically to help clubs grow, strengthen, and succeed year on year via the Club Spot Training and Resources platform.

What is Club Spot? A free online support hub to help community club members and volunteers access resources and training.

Who is this for? Club members, club leaders, and volunteers who want to improve their knowledge and skills.

What is included? Clubs who register will have access to free training videos, worksheets, and templates to assist with a range of tasks that empowers committee members.

Registration also includes access to free webinars including ‘Money Matters’, ‘Athlete Mental Health and Welfare’ and ‘Turn Your Facility Dreams into Reality.’

If your club hasn’t signed up yet, get in touch with the Recreation Services team at recreationservices@stonnington.vic.gov.au today.

Keep Connected
Walk and Talk Buddies – Cross-generational Adventures

An intergenerational pilot Walk and Talk Buddies program is connecting older residents, parents and children aged 0-5 years.

Program participants from the ‘Engaged’ social support program for older residents, and families from the Maternal and Child Health Support Playgroups, are meeting, taking a walk together, breathing in the fresh air and improving their fitness while exploring Stonnington’s local parks and gardens.

The pilot program encourages intergenerational local friendships, while building a sense of wellbeing and connection.

The intergenerational walk and talk buddies are planning to catch up monthly. The first walk was an adventure to Herring Island, and next month they’re off to the Gardiners Creek Trail at the TH King Oval.

If you’d like to find out more, or get involved, get in touch with the Engaged team at Engaged@Stonnington.vic.gov.au
