Featured Resources

Your featured resources this month are your very own SFUSD colleagues!

At the California Math Council North conference at Asilomar last weekend, we had the pleasure of learning from and with SFUSD math teachers from many of our schools, including Aptos, Bessie Carmichael K-8, Buena Vista Horace Mann K-8, Denman, MLK, and Willie Brown! There were also teachers, IRFs, and at least two principals representing SFUSD!

Some of our SFUSD teachers also presented at the conference: Michelle Cody from Willie Brown MS and Nick Chan from SF International High School were both lead presenters, and Rori Abernathy (Denman MS), Brittany Ueno (SF International), and Megan Tangonan (Balboa) served on a panel engaged with how to make CMC North a more inclusive and welcoming place for Educators of Color.

Recent Activities

Complex Instruction (CI) Teacher Facilitators (T-facs) met for their third and last meeting of the semester on November 5th. T-facs participated in a Building on Productive Beginnings Protocol to reflect upon their site learning goals with the support of colleagues. Then they looked at and refined their site learning goals with a lens of: What work do we need to do as T-facs or as a team to push our growth as a powerful adult learning community?

Problem Solving Cycle teacher leaders came together for the third and final teacher leader preparation (TLP) day of the fall semester on December 5th. Participants deepened their common understanding of the value of student centered closures in teaching and learning through Video Based Discussion, as well as reflected upon and set goals around closure in our own classrooms.
