From the Senior Pastor

For these summer days, as we give thanks for all who helped make our Art Smart Summer Camp come to life this year! The experiment of virtual and in-person camp worked!

We conclude our camp season with gratitude for the gifts of creativity.

This year, instead of having an art show inside, we piloted an outdoor art show.

Attached to the stakes that we used for the Holy Week Stations of the Cross Walk, we put 2-3 pictures that our campers painted in person on Tuesdays.

If you have a chance, please stop by to gaze at the creativity among us!

Our focus on creation and bees, butterflies and gardens who showed up in many and various ways.

And the Magnolia Tree offers a gentle AMEN…for all that was created in her shade…

in Christ,
Pastor Karen Brau

Important Update

We have been hoping to honor the death and celebrate the life of our beloved member Chuck Solem, who died in March, 2021.  Due to current shifts in the presence of Covid-19, the family in consultation with the church is postponing the Memorial gathering set for August 21, until a later date.  May God's grace comfort all who are grieving.

LVC Pack the Pantry

Next weekend LVC will be welcoming 12 volunteers to serve in DC for the next year. It would be so much appreciated if Luther Place could help pack the pantry for one or both of the volunteer houses! Is this something that you could support us in?

You can

Immigration advocacy groups including Faith in Action are urging all to call on their Congressional representatives to create a pathway to citizenship for millions of essential workers and their families, Dreamers, and TPS holders in the upcoming jobs and infrastructure reconciliation bill. Senator Sanders has tentatively agreed to add these important immigrant citizenship provisions to the Senate bill his committee is drafting.
