UPDATE
From the Senior Pastor

Dear Beloveds,

I am wondering today, even in the midst of so much struggle in our world and our lives, are you finding ways to celebrate?

Celebrating another day.

Celebrating the beauty of the earth?

Celebrating your own self understanding?

Celebrating creativity?

As a congregation, we are celebrating Hybrid worship — on-line and in person.  This is a new experience for us all!

One of the ways of celebrating creativity is a new set of paraments for the altar and pulpit in the sanctuary.

Paraments can tell a portion of our story of faith.  They share the colors of the liturgical year  (this is a green season) and offer images in cloth that reflect who God is.

Here is a picture of our new “celebration” paraments designed and sewn by The Rev. Deaconess Kati Kluckmann-Ault. Notice the variety of the fabrics and the cascading ribbons that show joy in color and in texture.

We share these paraments for our celebration of St. Francis, and will share them for our celebration of “Coming Out Sunday.”

Both Sundays celebrate the dignity of humans and creation.

What does the Magnolia Tree teach us this week?

The tree is an ongoing celebration of creativity.  Look at how the branches of the tree grow — their shape and their direction.  Look how  the leaves spread out, moving gently in the morning breeze.

God’s creativity shows up in the Magnolia Tree.

May you notice how you reflect God’s creativity.  Because each of you is beautifully and wonderfully made — please receive and celebrate that gift!

In Christ,

Pastor Karen Brau

Join the Friends of the Feast Team!

We are looking for new team members!
Are you looking for a meaningful way to serve the Luther Place Community?  Friends of the Feast (aka the Altar Guild) would love some new members.  We are responsible for preparing the altar (communion, paraments, candles, baptismal font) for worship each Sunday.  You would serve roughly one Sunday a month,  coming to the service a little bit early and staying a little bit late.  If you are interested in serving, please contact
Faith Korbel for more information.

Annual N Street Village SHERO Walk!

Join N Street Village Board Member Portia Robertson Migas, former Board Member and longtime supporter Gary Maring, and all of our incredibly dedicated LPMC supporters to help us meet our $5,000 goal.

On Saturday, October 16, we are calling all N Street Village SHEROs to activate - to stand, walk, run, amplify and help grow our Village family.

Join us (hopefully) in person or virtually for our SHERO Family Walk and expand the boundaries of our neighborhood as we share the Village spirit with our friends and family.

our prayers
Pastor Karen Brau
We offer our prayers

We pray for Katie Petit and her family as they mourn the death of Katie’s grandmother. May grace bring comfort and care in this time of grieving.

We pray God’s deep and abiding care for Virginia Westby, who resides at Goodwin House in Baileys Crossing.

For all students and teachers!

We ask for God's help in addressing the collective grief that exists for over 710,000 people dead in this nation and 4.55 million around the world from COVID-19.  Christ have mercy...
