Australia Day is on for Thredbo
It has been a tough month in Thredbo but we are finally back in business with the opening today of the Koscisuzko Track  and the Main Range Walk.  This sets the resort up well for the weekend and KT's planned Australia Day events will proceed.   This includes the Hottest 100 Backyard Party on Saturday and the Kosci Aussie Day Hike on Sunday.  Check out full details here:

News on Blues 2020
The Thredbo Blues Festival was an extra ordinary success, particularly in view of the launch trajectory required from Tuesday at 0% occupancy to the  weekend with over 1000 passes sold and hundreds more people in the village in bands and with FOC passes.  While the attendance for the event was down on a normal year it was no train-wreck.  A Huge Thanks to:
  • Kali for stepping up to run the event, she performed incredibly  well under difficult conditions.
  • Our Loyal Volunteers who turn up every year and get it done.  You know who you are...
  • Caroline and the KT Marketing machine for great support and an amazing burst of media activity to get the event back on track
  • All Venues for stepping up and digging deep to get up and running
  • The Amazing Musicians for their unwavering support.

A Letter from Steve on Blues and Beyond
Hi To All Members,
Over the past week we have witnessed an extraordinary demonstration of support for our unique mountain community. Our landlord, KT Pty Ltd, together with all member and non-member businesses within our community have pulled together to host an outstanding event to entertain in excess of 1000 guests. Our festival music directors Brian & Stewart as well as Chamber Executive members Kali & Ian plus the many other unnamed supporters and volunteers pulled together a fantastic event that was truly appreciated by all guests who attended. Congratulations to all business operators who invested in hosting artists at their venues as well as a big thank you to all the members who provided FOC accommodation and also to those outlets who provided meals to artists and sound technicians over the week-end.
After speaking with most of the F & B outlets involved over the week-end I am pleased to report that everyone was happy with the result given that the numbers were approximately 30% down on last year’s attendance. No issues were encountered that could not be resolved quickly and in good spirit. We have reviewed the festival and expect that we will be able to introduce new initiative for next year’s event.
It was pleasing to receive accurate occupancy feedback last week in preparation for the festival and I encourage all accommodation operators to continue to provide the Chamber with this information into the future.
The Chamber continues to represent your interests in reference to the bushfire emergency via both face-to-face and written communications between the regional Chamber office of the NSW Chamber (Illawarra ) and of course directly with the Sydney office of NSW Business Chamber. See links below for more detail.
Today, NPWS have opened additional park resources and as such KT have released the following information. View online Please read this release as it covers a wide variety of information.
To finish with I would like to encourage all members to submit proposals, requests and suggestions on what it is that you and your businesses would like to see your Chamber introduce or explore in order to serve your interests best. I do realise that there will be many suggestions that we will not be able to honour however we will do our best to review and respond as best we can to each one received.
