With the announcement this morning (20 May) that the Government is relaxing travel restrictions from 1 June. This will mean that visitors will begin returning to the mountains for holidays. While there is still no confirmed date for the commencement of lift operations for winter 2020 we will begin to see visitors in the Village from earlyJune and the June Long weekend may see quite a few arrivals in town.
For this reason I think it is important that members should ensure that we have prepared our premises / properties as COVIDsafe locations for our guests. Here are some links to assist:

Property Insurance Update.
As you may be aware there have been several properties in Thredbo struggling to find insurance renewals after the 2020 bush fire season. Chamber representatives have sought advice from suitably qualified brokers who may be able to assist members and others within Thredbo with insurance cover for the future.
We currently understand that only two insurers are comfortable tendering for the business, however they are both yet to respond. We are currently discussing options and once we have more tangible information to pass on to members we will be happy to inform you of all options.
Update From Thredbo Property Department
Dear Sub-lessees and Property Owners,
Kosciuszko Thredbo welcome the lifting of the NSW travel ban, however please note that Thredbo Resort will not be opening the snow season for skiing and snowboarding over the June long weekend. This means there will be no skiing/snowboarding or any opening weekend events in Thredbo over 5-8 June 2020.
Rest assured, we are continuing to work hard with Government authorities and snow industry partners to deliver a COVID safe season. We remain hopeful that we’ll be able to offer skiing and snowboarding this winter and are hoping to announce an Opening Date as soon as possible.
