Principal's News

Fall Festival
This is the Parish's one and only fundraising event. Lunch is served from 11am - 1pm, followed by an auction. The food is wonderful (and cheap) and the community interaction is even better. Please come out and support our parish.

DayCare/LatchKey
Our DayCare and LatchKey enrollment is nearly at its limit. Some days we are at maximum capacity. Therefore, I strongly encourage you to reserve your spot as early in advance as possible. Additionally, although we have perhaps the lowest rates in the area, we charge $1/hr more for unannounced drop-ins. Please let us know if have to cancel your scheduled time in DayCare or LatchKey, so we don't have to turn others away.

Volleyball
Please join me in congratulating our SJS girls volleyball team. They are halfway through season and have a 3 - 2 record.

Meet with Chidi
Chidi facilitated two very successful meetings with parents last year. His first meeting this year is Sunday, October 7, @ 3pm. Topic is How to help kids manage anxiety, stress and anger. Please think about attending these insightful and helpful informal meetings. All are welcome.

Chess Club
Chess club begins Wednesday September 26. The club will meet almost every Wednesday from 3:15 - 4pm. All students interested in learning and/or playing chess are welcome. Cost is $20/player or $25/family.

Lunch Balances

Please remember that paper notices are not going out this year for negative lunch balances.  Please make sure you are set up to receive email notifications about balances through PowerSchool.  You can also go into PowerSchool and check balances manually.

Attention
Volunteers and drivers... We are obligated to comply with a new Archdiocesan policy. If you plan to either serve as a volunteer or an event/trip driver during the upcoming school year, you must complete the following trainings - Safe Environments and Be Smart Drive Safe. These trainings can be found at cmgconnect.org. We are part of the Archdiocese of Dubuque. If you have already completed the Driver course, you will not be required to take it again, but all volunteers that work with or around our students must complete the Safe Environments course (It is a 75 minute video).
