The 3-year-old program will begin on Monday August 24. We currently have openings in this preschool program. Parents can choose from the following offerings: from 8 - 11am, Mon.-Wed.-Fri, or Tu.-Th. The everyday option is also available, and St. John offers wraparound childcare from 7am - 6pm each school day. If interested, please call the school at 319-334-7173 for a registration packet.
In collaboration with the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops, I am asking parents and staff to advocate for our Catholic schools to be included in a new COVID relief bill for emergency funding for education. Across the nation, nonpublic schools educate 10 percent of the overall K-12 student population, so we are asking for 10 percent of future emergency education funding be appropriated for nonpublic schools. We need to act this week, as Congress is expected to consider this bill beginning on July 20th.

Thank you for your support of Catholic schools!
CHAMPS Cupboard is in need of some more donations to help supplement our CHAMPS program for the rest of the summer. We have been supplying 2 meals a week on Wednesdays to those who need a little help with feeding kids this summer. We have been feeding around 500-600 (250-300 children) meals every week and would like to keep that going until August 12th. Here is the link to use to donate https://www.indeemustangfoundation.com/donate/
Specify that you want it to go to the CHAMPS cupboard. You can also stop at BankIowa to donate and tell them it goes to the CHAMPS cupboard or contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We just received a notice that we only have enough funds to feed kids one more time. We are looking for donations to feed the kids once a week for at least 5 more weeks.
Attention free/reduced lunch recipients

Drivers education certificates. They are good until 2022. These are $50 vouchers that can be purchased for $25 (only 1 per family).
If an 8th
grade parent would like to purchase photos/videos that played at graduation they can do so for a $100 donation towards the PTO.
Please contact Heather Thompson if interested.
July Office Hours
The office will be open Monday through Thursday from 8am - noon.
Again this summer, if your child is entering grades 2 through 8, he/she will be required
to read. If they are an incoming 2nd through 4th grader, the student will be required to read two books. If they are entering 5th through 8th grade, they are required to read three books. Reading will be verified through the Reading Counts
program. If the book does not exist in the Reading Counts library please contact your child's teacher for approval. I will be here Monday through Thursday each day, from 8am - 2pm; exceptions can be made by contacting me. I will be available to your students so they can return and check out books as well as take the Reading Counts
tests. Most of the books on the list are available in our Public library. Those students who read seven books or more will be invited to breakfast, hosted by the principal.
Y-Camp for the incoming 7th and 8th graders will take place from September 2nd - 4th this year. We need your help. Please volunteer to chaperone.
You can contact Mrs. Bussan at email@example.com if you have any questions.
