Wave Academy
Launches Outreach & Awareness Campaign

We’re excited to announce the launch of our Spring & Summer Outreach and Awareness Campaign.
We’ve taken an holistic approach by connecting with various agencies, service providers and non profits that are involved in providing alternative treatment options for veterans with post-traumatic stress.
Wave Academy’s new outreach coordinator, Tim Caudill, is spearheading our outreach and awareness planning.  Together, Wave Academy office personnel, practitioners and our volunteers are meeting local community members at various locations throughout San Diego, including: college campuses; veterans meet-ups; Veterans Affairs functions; community programs; and city council and coalition meetings.
In addition to the above, Wave Academy's clinical case manager, Candice Colón, presented at this month’s San Diego County Suicide Prevention Council monthly meeting. She provided a wonderful presentation, including a peak at our website, video testimonials, and statistical information about who we are, who we're serving and how to access our services.
We’ve also made inroads with the California Department of Veterans Affairs and collaborated on an email blast to their San Diego database announcing our offer of 8 free Aquatic Bodywork Therapy sessions over an eight-week period.  The response was very encouraging!  So far we’ve received over 60 applications from veterans seeking relief from PTS. We look forward to our relationship with the Cal Vet evolving over time.

We are honored to announce our newest addition, Tim Caudill!  Tim brings a rich experience of community engagement to the role of outreach coordinator.  He served 4 years as a Marine and most recently as field representative and veterans liaison for U.S. Congressman Scott Peters. His deep understanding of community relations, military operations, and the wounds of war is a real asset to Wave Academy’s growth and mission.
Tim joined the Wave Academy family because he believes in the work of the organization and desires to introduce veterans to Wave Academy’s treatment methodology so they can experience relief from PTS. “Having gone through a traumatic experience myself, I can attest to the successful outcome of treatments at Wave Academy.  I want to bring this success to my fellow brothers and sisters who are in need.”
