Brand new look for Jurys Inn 

Jurys Inn Southampton is undergoing a £2 million refurbishment programme to completely transform the hotel and enhance its facilities for new and existing business and leisure guests.

The 270 bedroom hotel, centrally located overlooking East Park, is undergoing significant refurbishment including refurbishment of all 270 bedrooms and introduction of the new bespoke DREAM Bed by Jurys Inn with upgraded mattresses, pillows and bed linen. Introduction of 19 new Executive Rooms, giving delegates the option to upgrade their hotel stay and avail of a number of extra amenities and benefits including Super-King beds, complimentary premium WiFi, mini-fridge with complimentary snacks and full Sky TV package. Refurbishment of public areas including; lobby, bar, restaurant, incorporating a bright, contemporary décor, chic furnishings and stunning artwork.

All 270 bedrooms are now complete, while the lobby, bar and restaurant are set to be complete in late 2016.

Meet our Zany Zebra... Crystal!

For 10 weeks from Saturday 16 July 2016, a zeal of Marwell’s Zany Zebras will gallop through the streets of Southampton creating a fun trail for all to enjoy. This is a great summer team building activity for companies visiting or based in Southampton!

Solent Conference Centre introduces new venue in The Spark
 
Solent University’s Conference Centre is moving to a brand new venue in the new The Spark building on East Park Terrace. It will be proud to sit within the £30 million building, providing large, interactive spaces for meetings and events for up to 400 people. The building’s impressive central atrium brings a genuine ‘wow’ factor to the campus, and spaces such as The Whitebeam Fine Dining Suite, Harvard style lecture theatres and floating ‘Pod’ will make for dynamic and memorable events.

With a wide range of event spaces ranging from meeting rooms, lecture theatres, conference suites and innovative learning rooms to a 3D cinema, private dining room, extensive sports facilities and TV, photography and performances studios, our campus is the perfect venue solution.


The new facilities will be available to hire for conferences and events from June 2016.

Southampton City Talks 

On 14th April Southampton Football Club hosted the Estates Gazette 'Southampton City Talks' event where Southampton was the first city in the country to be recognised as one of the UK’s most dynamic cities by EG, who signpost key destinations for investors and developers.

Successful economic growth and development within the city has been highlighted through some recent key survey figures: Southampton is the 4th highest ranking English city for good growth (source PWC). Southampton is also in the top 10 list of UK cities voted as being one of the ‘happiest cities to work in’ (source OPP).

Stacey Meadwell, London Editor for Estates Gazette said "Southampton is a waterfront city with great potential and has a number of interesting large scale regeneration projects including Itchen Riverside and the Royal Pier as well as other development and investment opportunities.”

Destination Southampton were proud to provide the event management for the Business South Annual Conference on Friday 22nd April at the Hilton at The Ageas Bowl.
