Introducing the new hWS Supply Chain Manager

February saw the appointment of our new Supply Chain Manager, Billy Murray.  Francesca remains as an integral part of the hWS office and has successfully transitioned into her new role as Senior Property Manager responsible for the ongoing operations of our DBFM Projects.  Billy comes to us from a Commercial Management role with one of the UK’s largest companies providing Facility Management services on behalf of their Local Authority clients.  Whilst many of our Supply Chain Members have had the opportunity to meet with Billy, he would welcome the chance to engage with those remaining.  You can get in contact with Billy by emailing to

5 Year Supply Chain Refresh

In accordance with our company Method Statements, hWS are well underway with the programme to conclude the Supply Chain Refresh by March 2017.  We have asked our Supply Chain to complete a Supply Chain Engagement Survey, signalling the commencement of the Supply Chain Refresh programme. Following the successful conclusion of the Supply Chain Refresh, the hWS Supply Chain will substantially remain unchanged for the following 5 years.

Centre for Excellence

Our Centre for Excellence began this year with a workshop for some of our Supply Chain to learn about uploading tenders to 4Projects. We are currently planning future events and are always open to hearing your suggestions.

Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014

As many of you will be aware, the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 came into force on 18th April this year. Although hWS operates under Private Sector Procurement, many of our Supply Chain Members will be affected by the changes now enforceable by this act. Scottish Living Wage

hWS has become an accredited Scottish Living Wage employer. The Scottish Living Wage Accreditation Initiative was established in April 2014 with the aim of increasing the number of employers in Scotland who are recognised for paying their staff the Living Wage.  

The Living Wage is currently £8.25 and is called the “living wage” because it is based on the cost of living, according to the real cost of living, including food, fuel, childcare and more.
