Kia Ora OWNZ Members, 

Our newsletter this month includes information about the upcoming National Championship events (Senior/Junior & Secondary Schools), we wish our Youth Commonwealth Games team good luck over in Samoa, we announce another athlete attending the IWF World Championships, plus much much more!

There is a lot going on over the next few months in New Zealand Weightlifting so make sure you check out the details below...

Please remember that tomorrow is the final day to enter into the 2015 OWNZ National Championships. No late entries will be accepted. 

If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to ask. Train hard and we look forward to seeing most of you at our National Champs in October!

Good-luck to our Youth Team!

We have 5 strong lifters attending the Youth Commonwealth Games in Samoa from September 5th - 11th.

Congratulations and good-luck to Vernon Taylor, Kaeley Elkington, Kanah Andrews-Nahu, Albi Anderson and Paige Lawgun!

OWNZ wishes these athletes the best in their preparations and would also like to thank our Coaches for their work behind the scenes: Caleb Symon, Fiona Norton, and Jacob Lawgun.

We can't forget to mention our Technical Officials attending the YCG as well. All the best to Toni & Jenni Ebert, Garry Marshall and Keisha Soffe. 
OWNZ has agreed to include the athletes results from Samoa in the Secondary School overall National results as the competitions are held at the same time. 

OWNZ Full Time General Manager

OWNZ has secured funding from the New Zealand Community Trust and the Infinity Foundation, along with our own contribution, to finance our Administration Officer into a General Managers position for the next 12 months. 

OWNZ and the Executive Group are looking forward to continuing their work with Emma Pilkington to lead, strengthen and promote the sport of weightlifting within New Zealand.

The 2015 IWF World Championships 

OWNZ is proud to announce the selection of our third athlete, Andrea Miller, to attend the 2015 IWF World Championships in Houston, USA. 

Andrea is an extremely talented weightlifter showing huge progress in her lifts. OWNZ is very excited to see her represent New Zealand on the weightlifting World stage.

Call for expressions of interest for Treasurer position

OWNZ will be appointing a new Treasurer at the 2015 AGM.
