Auckland Officials Workshop

This is an opportunity to up-skill yourself as a participant in the sport of weightlifting. 
This workshop will help you understand how a competition is run and what your role in that competition is whether you are an official, athlete and/or coach. More information on workshop content will be released along with the online registration and payment details. SAVE THE DATE!
Date: Saturday 11th June
Time: All day
Venue: Gilles Ave Weightlifting Club, Newmarket, Auckland
Fee: $10
Eligibility: Participants must be OWNZ registered members

Please note that there will be limited spots available. Once we receive feedback on this pilot workshop we are looking to roll this out throughout the country with regular workshops in the calendar. 

Round 2 Results

Congratulations to everyone that competed in a club competition during the month of March. The top 3 placings for teams are as follows:

1st - Northland Olympic Weightlifting Club
2nd - Functional Strength Olympic
3rd - Otago Weightlifting

Due to some small discrepancies the Male and Female Rankings are being redone. These will be posted on our website before the end of the month. 

2016 High Performance Training Camp

Last week we had our high performance squad, national coaches & management team attend a four day training camp to prepare and plan for the upcoming Rio Olympic Qualifying event in Fiji. A massive thank you has to go out to the Olympic Solidarity for fully funding this activity!

2016 Oceania Weightlifting Championships 

Our Senior, Junior & Youth men and womens team are in their final preparations for the lead up to this major international event. To view the full team and to keep up to date with event information please click HERE

We have 5 talented junior men attending this international event in Tbilisi, Georgia from the 23rd of June to the 2nd of July.

2016 Tokyo Masters World Cup

Congratulations to the following NZ representatives that medalled at this international event:

2016 Oceania Masters Championships & Pacific Rim Tournament

We are proud to have so many Masters athletes compete internationally!

Round 1 Results  

A fantastic turnout for the first round of the OWNZ School League with 32 lifters representing 13 secondary schools across the country. 

Congratulations and well done to Rangitoto College who took out first place closely followed by Macleans College and Wellington High School.

Good luck to all schools and lifters for the remainder of the year, train hard!
