“You, dear young people, are not the future but the now of God.
—Pope Francis

Lead Me Down the Right Road

This past Sunday at the 11:30 mass, Fr. Kelley referenced one of my all-time favorite prayers by Thomas Merton. I love the way it starts: "My God, I have no idea where I'm going." Pure honesty and surrender. In times of transition, it is hard to see where the road may take us and how we might proceed. There are so many unanswered questions at the start of a new job or a new school year. But the way the prayer ends offers some comfort: "I will not fear, for You are ever with me, and You will never leave me to face my perils alone." Even though it might be intimidating to move forward without knowing what's to come, practicing trust in the Lord through prayer can help us face the present moment with courage and peace. I pray that we will keep our trust in God as we build Youth Ministry here at Holy Trinity. - Katie Laskey
