Easter Sunday Brunch: Our 12th annual Mutianyu Great Wall Easter Brunch is this Sunday. Live jazz and a generous country buffet in the Brickyard garden (weather permitting) with egg hunts and face painting for the kids. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the sun while the kids run amok. Call 6162-6506 to make a last minute booking if we have space available.

Perfect Spring for Kite Flying
We will have a series of activities and specials for the Qingming holiday next week. Check our website for information or call 6162-6506for
Chinese Language Students
These students and their teachers from the Dalton School of New York City stayed overnight at the Brickyard earlier this month. Besides visiting the Great Wall and participating in a discussion session with our partners they also made and flew traditional kites.

Gregory Burns Exhibition
Our artist in residence, Gregory Burns, will exhibit works created over the last month on Saturday 14 April in the Brickyard’s Great Wall Room. Gallery opens at 11:00 with reception at 15:00 for visitors who would like to meet Gregory in person and enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks.
Live Jazz Grill
Jazz, spring evening scented with our dozens of lilacs, and great barbecue… our next grill evening will be Saturday 21 April. Book early if, like many of our dining guests, you would like to stay the night.

Local Dancing Troupe
Accompanied by drums and folk instruments played loudly by our neighbors the women of Beigou Village perform for groups of Brickyard guests by prior arrangement. Here’s one visitor who participated in a show just last week.
Sound Mind in a Sound Body
Last Sunday was our first Sunday morning yoga program for Spring 2018. Everything is about to burst into bloom in the spa garden. The yoga class is offered for no additional charge to our lodging guests.

Head’s Up Mother’s Day: For the last 12 years we’ve offered live jazz, roses and champagne for every mother, and a lavish outdoor buffet under the Great Wall and this year we will keep this tradition going. We have limited seating so we suggest you book early to make sure you have a place in the sun at Mutianyu for the mothers in your life on their special day Sunday 13 May.

Mystery Home
Benjamin Grob-Fitzgibbon won an Rmb 688 credit for being the first reader to identify Apricot Lane in our last newsletter. Be the first to name the Brickyard Home pictured above and you will earn an Rmb 588 credit. If you’re not first we’ll still offer a consolation prize to everyone with correct answers by tomorrow 24:00 Beijing time -- a free milkshake in the Lodge. If you’re one of our loyal guests (thank you all!) this one is easy money so send us your guess.
Cooking with Randhir
That’s roasted lamb from Mongolia with polenta from our village corn accompanied by grilled vegetables, Randhir’s offering for a Spring Dinner. Try it at home.

Sustainability in Action
It warmed up early this year so we’ve already prepared our Brickyard kitchen garden for Spring planting. Here is our farmer Sun Zuofeng hard at work (and also enjoying the great sunny weather).
