Magnolia Buds in February!

It’s an early Spring this year. This image of the Great Wall at Mutianyu was shot through magnolia buds a few days ago. Our gardens full of forsythia, lilacs, flowering plums, apricots, and wild peach will soon burst into Spring color. With this weather we’ve decided to hold this season’s first Live Jazz Grill on Saturday 24 March.

Cooking with Randhir

Roasted pumpkin soup with chestnuts, a soup for winter and early spring before new crops come in, is Executive Chef Randhir Singh’s offering this month. He used pumpkins from our area and our own chestnuts from last fall. But you can make it from good quality store-bought ingredients and make it at home. Get the recipe

Sustainability in Action

Kids young and old love straws and we are happy to offer in our restaurants. How else would you enjoy one of our milkshakes made with homemade ice cream? But plastic straws end up in the oceans and kill sea life. So we use paper straws packaged in paper wrappers. Our takeaway containers are also paper. Learn about plastic pollution.
