We are open and we would like to wish you a warm

Welcome back!

Craig was extremely constructive during the lockdown period choosing to stick close to home, enjoying precious time with his family, walking his dogs, sorting through images and spending many, many hours writing. However he is extremely pleased that once again he is able to get back to his bach and get lost in surfing the waves...

We hope that you and yours are safe and well and we look forward to seeing you once again in the gallery now that we are able to resume normal trading!

Michael Dell's newest exhibition , 'Endless Days' opened on Saturday at the Suter Art Gallery at 208 Bridge Street, Nelson and will run until October 4, 2020.

Michael Dell’s artworks display a fascination with, but unwillingness to elevate, the ordinary. In their rejection of drama, an easy narrative, or the fetishisation of the artist’s hand, his enigmatic artworks are more memories than representational landscapes or abstract meditations on form. - The Suter Art Gallery

An absolute 'must see' for locals and visitors alike. We are in love with Michaels work and are lucky enough to have had several pieces of his in our gallery at any one time.  You can find out more about Michaels exhibition by clicking on the link below..

We wanted to spread some love this month and help say thanks to a special someone. So recently we ran a 'Lockdown Legend' giveaway on our social media pages where the public got to nominate someone who helped get them through Level 4. The entries to win a signed 'Rainforest' image were fantastic and we wish we could have given a prize to everyone who was nominated! However there could only be one winner. She was nominated by Bronwyn Shepard for simply being an outstanding human....our winner is Nikki Welsh! Bronwyns nomination read,

I wish to nominate local hero Nikki Welsh who has worked so hard for Nelson through the lockdown to look after staff, and maintain essential medicine services. She is a Nelson local, an absolute brilliant leader and manager of the pharmacy, with a genuine care for her staff and the amazing community. Nikki has given so much of herself since lockdown began, to ensure the staff are safe, and the community has access to essential medicines, immunisations, care and advice."
