The winners of our awards this year:

The Stuart Bremer Travel Award 2017 has been won by Adam Scharpf with his paper “Dirty Skills- Guerrilla Wars and Military Training at the School of the Americas”. The jury was composed by Margit Bussmann, Vincenzo Bove, Christos Kollias, Prakarsh Singh and Roberto Ricciuti. Thanks to them for their commitment.

Manas Chatterji in consultation with the Steering Committee of the Network of European Peace Scientists, awarded Arzu Kibris with the Manas Chatterji Award for Excellence in Research on Peace Economics and Peace Science.

The NEPS Medal 2017 for the best publication in Peace Science published by a NEPS Member has been won by Raul Caruso, Ilaria Petrarca and Roberto Ricciuti, with their paper "Climate change, rice crops, and violence: Evidence from Indonesia", Journal of Peace Research, 53(1) 66–83.

CESPIC Summer School entitled
"War, reconstruction and establishment of peace from the roots of war to the establishment of a lasting Peace" 

Classes will be held on September, 18-22, 2017 at the Catholic University Our Lady of Good Counsel in Tirana.
The Summer School aims to provide a group of international graduate students with scientific pillars about roots of war, peace and issues in peacebuilding. In line with Peace Science tradition, the program is interdisciplinary involving disciplines such as economics, political science, international relations and history. The Summer school is designed for Master students and 1st year PhD students. In order to favor also a fruitful and open dialogue with the faculty a small group of students will be selected. The faculty is composed of world-class scholars in the field.

Tenure Track Position(s) in International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem
to begin in fall 2018

The call is open to candidates in all areas and subfields of International Relations broadly construed. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a strong command of international relations theory, broadly construed, conduct research and teach undergraduate level classes as well as mentor students. Junior and senior scholars are encouraged to apply. Advanced doctoral candidates are expected to have their dissertation approved no later than October 1st 2018.

Proceedings of the
17th Jan Tinbergen European Peace Science Conference
Also this year the proceedings of the Jan Tinbergen European Peace Science Conference will be published as short papers/letters in a special issue on Peace Economics, Peace Science and Public Policy (PEPS) to be released on December 2017. This year, the special issue will be edited by Arzu Kibris and Roos van der Haer.
Walter Isard Annual Award for the best article in Peace Economics, Peace Science
and Public Policy

The editor in chief, Raul Caruso, is happy to announce that from this year, 2017, the best article published on Peace Economics, Peace Science and Public Policy (PEPS) will be awarded with the “Walter Isard Annual Award for the best article in Peace Economics, Peace Science and Public Policy”
This award is named after Walter Isard, founder of PEPS and acknowledged father of Peace Science
The winner will be announced every year at the end of the year and the author(s) will receive the award of 300 EUR.
