Blessed are they that Hunger and Thirst after Righteousness

I began this series on the beatitudes last year, but stopped for a couple of months because of other issues. Here we go again.

Matthew 5: 6 says, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled."

Righteousness is mentioned over 550 times in the scriptures.

There is a blessing attached to those who desire the best things of God. We are missing spiritual hunger today in our lives. We should desire God as if we had been in a drought or famine. We have been so blessed with spiritual food on our tables, that we have lost our need for God. We cannot be a people of indifference and complacency. We need God!!

Righteousness is the character or quality of being right or just. It is an attribute of God that speaks of His faithfulness to His own nature and promises. We are a people who should be striving toward the standard of God. Our righteousness is filthy rags. We are admonished to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness in Matthew 6:33.

We are not going to become perfect in this world, but we are to be seeking, pressing, desiring, and hungry for the things of God. The Bible tells us there is a crown of righteousness laid up for us, if we finish the race. The text says that we shall be filled. God wants to fill our hearts and lives with His life and purpose. He satisfies us, not once for all, but satisfies our lives as we continually desire Him.

Mission News

This is a picture of the response to the message I preached in Iloilo City, Philippines, in 2014. A team from Grace Temple is going back in February. Pastor Dwayne Higgason, myself and our team will be training pastors in three cities. We are working with Pastor Joemarie Sulmaca, who is a leader in the Foursquare Church.  Please pray for these meetings to be fruitful for these pastors and leaders. We will then travel to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where the team will teach self defense to the staff of Hard Places.

Serving those who serve Jesus around the world.
I thought I would share a picture from the past. This is a church we built in Los Palmas, Mexico, in 1988. It was a small village that had never had a protestant church. A lady by the name of Catalina Negrete started attending the church I pastored in Aiken, SC, and told us there was a need for a church in her village. We sent a team to make it happen. We had people shoot guns above our heads and were harassed by a number of people, but kept going. A few years ago, I was able to visit this village again and now there is a thriving church with a great pastor. I even saw Catalina again. We never know what the Lord will do with our efforts. We give him our gifts and talents, and He transforms them and uses them for His purpose.

Upcoming Schedule

I will be spending a week in prayer and fasting from January 22-27. I encourage you to take time to seek the Lord as we enter into this year. James 5:16 says, "Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much". Please let me know if you want me to pray with concerning any area of your life.

Ronald's Remarks

I began last year with the statement, "Don't have the same routine, in Two Thousand Seventeen." Well, it was definitely fulfilled.  I went to twelve different countries, Cuba three times and Guatemala twice. This year one of my words is to "Hear the Word of the Lord and Obey". I want to be intentional to do what pleases the Lord in every area of my life. I pray for you, to open your spiritual ears and hear what the Lord is saying to YOU!!
Now is the time and You are the one who can make a difference. You can partner with us to reach out to the people around the world. We can't change everyone, but we can make a difference in at least one life. Who knows how many that person will touch?
Ronald, I want to partner with you to Reach the Nations. Here is my pledge of support. You can be a partner in the Harvest with any monthly support. Your financial support is a blessing to many.
