The Cares of This World

There is a parable in the Bible about the sower and the seed and four types of ground the seed falls on. The four different soils represent people of all different backgrounds who respond to the Lord in different ways. The first two groups rootless, lifeless, and fruitless. Truly not born again. The last group is born again, submissive, active and productive. It is the third group I want to talk about today. They grow and get right on the verge of bearing fruit, but their growth becomes limited. They hear everything the fourth group hears, but the truths are never really accepted, never allowed to take root and grow. Why? Because thorns come in. The thorns are the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desire for other things. The Lord does not say they might hinder, but He says they enter in and choke the Word.

Worry literally means "to choke". The thorns cause us to worry and miss the benefits of God. Worry causes us to lose perspective, saps away energy, lose your vision or your potential, and keeps you from positive action. Why worry? 40% will never happen, 30 % concerns old decisions that can't be changed, 12% centers upon criticism made by people who feel inferior, 10% is related to my health, which only gets worse with worry. 8% is actually legitimate.

Turn everything over to God. Today resist the thorns that bring worry and concern. "Cast all your cares (or worry) upon Him, because He cares for you". I Peter 5:7

Mission News

This picture is the new door and window leading into the home we were able to help build for Nelson in Rabinal, Guatemala. I believe it is symbolic in that this home is a door into his future. This young man has helped his family from a very young age. He has lived in total poverty, yet kept a smile and believed that his life could change. With the help of Mary Purvis, our missionary to Guatemala, that dream has come true. He now has a house with indoor plumbing, doors and windows and a kitchen. The family is so grateful for the blessing that has been given to them and I believe they will help others to achieve their dreams.

Two young ladies are going down as interns to help Mary in June. These are some of the ways we are trying to help missionaries and also create opportunities for people to find their calling.

Please pray for Mary as she has had a difficult time recently. A young man that she had given a home and a future, was shot and killed. The young man was doing nothing wrong, but someone came into the home where he lived and shot him and his step dad.

Serving those who serve Jesus around the world.
This is Darwin. Sharon and I sponsor him in the feeding program through Guatemala Landing Zone. Mary Purvis feeds over 135 children and elderly one meal a day, five days a week. You can check out her ministry on Facebook at Guatemala Landing Zone. There are also sponsorships for those going to school. Please pray about contributing to this worthy ministry.

International Outreach Ministries has many different mission projects around the world. You can sponsor students for pastoral ministry or children in need. One of my favorite photos. I had the privilege of teaching pastors in Ongole, India many years ago. I am heading back to India again. My friend, Jack Turner, will be traveling with me.  I have quite an upcoming schedule. May 23 I depart for Torun, Poland to speak for a men's conference. Pastor Jacek and I have been friends for many years. I then travel to Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine on May 31 to work with my dear friend Clint Eaves as he touches orphans. He began a ministry called, "Crumbs from the Table" that is trying to help orphans from Eastern Europe have hope. So many times they age out and get involved with gangs. You can find out more about "Crumbs from the Table" by visiting their Facebook page. We will be speaking to the children and also to the leadership that comes from the Ukraine and Latvia.

We then travel to Hyderabad, India on June 1 to speak to pastors. James Rebavarapu and his family have been involved in ministry all their lives. He has a heart with a plan called, "Operation Saturation". They have a goal of planting 25,000 churches by 2020. This is not building buildings, but planting missionaries in places that are spiritually dark.

This is a large undertaking for me. I need to raise $5,000.00 for my plane fare, lodging and transportation. I have also committed to raise $2,000.00 for the pastors seminar in India. That means I need $7,000.00. You can give through Ronald Gray Ministries online or send to P.O. Box 1873, Daphne, AL 36526.. You can also send to IOM at P.O. Box 2140, McComb, MS 39649. Just say it is for Ronald Gray Missions.

Ronald's Remarks

I just celebrated my birthday on April 15. 62 years old. 43 years of ministry. Millions of miles traveled. Lives changed, transformed and healed. There is nothing else I would rather do than what I am doing. I am blessed beyond measure. Sharon and I sold the house we have lived in for 15 years. We bought a house that fits our lives and we are thankful. Our daughters, son in law and grandchildren are a part of our blessings. I am married to the most wonderful woman in the world. What else could a man ask for? I have friends in many countries and friends that have stood together for many years. I am still celebrating and thankful. Glad you are a part of the celebration.

I also wanted to give you a reminder about going to the Holy Land October 17-24 with an option to extend for three days to Greece. I have a good group going and there is still room for you. Check out the information at our web site.
Now is the time and You are the one who can make a difference. You can partner with us to reach out to the people around the world. We can't change everyone, but we can make a difference in at least one life. Who knows how many that person will touch?
Ronald, I want to partner with you to Reach the Nations. Here is my pledge of support. You can be a partner in the Harvest with any monthly support. Your financial support is a blessing to many.
