You are the Light of the World

Matthew 5:14-16(NKJV)

14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."

Three words describe the world today. Difficult, Depraved and Deceived. II Timothy talks about this in chapter 3. The world around us seems dead towards God. Unmoved by anything spiritual. The media acts like we are a nation that has never had a foundation of Godliness. The truth is that we are still a people founded on the principle of "One Nation Under God." The only way to get back to where we need to be, is for the church to rise up to it's rightful place of influence. This does not mean marching around and hurling insults. It means to be a righteous influence to those around us.
Christians are still the standard of right and wrong. It is always amazing that even people who say they don't believe in God, want to pray when tough times come. Let me share a few characteristics of light.
1. Light is active. Light waves are moving. Get moving toward God and his will for your life.
2. Light is pure. Don't allow darkness to prevail in your life. Live according the principles of the Word of God.
3. Light is lifegiving. Plants grow toward the light. Are people drawn to you or does your life cause them to flee?
4. Light is silent. No noise, No splash. Many times we want to be heard and not seen. We need to change lives by the way we live.
5. Light has various forms. Prisms, Rays. We are not all alike. Use your giftings and talents for the purpose of God and building His kingdom.

The scripture says, "Let your light shine."  Allow the Lord to use you. You don't have to manufacture something. Be natural. It is your light, not someone else's. It should be seen before men and bring glory to God.

Let your light shine today.

This months message is "No Fear". We are a people of Faith and not fear. I trust it helps you to shine your light.

Mission News

This is a photo of the completed building in Kitale, Kenya. So thankful to be a part of a ministry that touches the nations. I've shared in past newsletters that we built this building to help Pastor Alex, who is a staff member of KMTI. We are a relational ministry. We can't help everybody in the world, but when we have relationship and find out a need, we are able to try to meet that need. Grace Temple gave the money and a lot of manpower to build this. I have been in relationship with Pastor Dwayne Higgason for over 20 years now. We have built buildings, taught conferences, prayed, laughed and cried together. You can be a part of this. We are always looking for churches, businesses and individuals that want to make a difference.

Next week I lead a team from Georgetown Assembly of God, with Pastor Chris Summerlin to Cuba. This is my eighth trip to Cuba. I love and appreciate Pastor Sergio and his wife Rosa. We will minister to children. I sent out an appeal and have received 8 suitcases of clothes for children. I have two laptops and reams of paper. I was given money to help them buy a small sound system. So thankful for my partners stepping up to help. Please pray that many will come into the Kingdom next week.
Serving those who serve Jesus around the world.
I'm going back to India at the end of August. So many people and so much to be done. India is facing a crisis with the Hindu government cracking down on missionaries and the spread of Christianity. There are seven of us traveling together. We plan to hold two conferences. One is for Kingdom Business (Opportunity, Inc) and the other will be a pastors conference. We plan to teach from the curriculum that we use in Kenya, Uganda, etc. The ministry we work with there wants to plant a school similar to what we have in Kenya. Please pray for this endeavor. I have pledged $3,000 to help with the conference. I also need $2,500 for traveling as well. If you can help with the conference or travel, please go to my web site or send to the address in this newsletter.

Upcoming Schedule:

  • July 23-30: Mission Team from Georgetown Assembly, Wilmer, AL to Cuba
  • August 3-9: Mission trip from William Carey Volleyball team to Guatemala
  • August 10-11: IOM Mission Conference, Starkville, MS
  • August 12-16: IOM Board Meeting
  • August 24-26: Men's Retreat and Ministry-Evangel Assembly of God, Tallahassee, FL
  • August 27-September 7: India Mission Trip
  • September 16: Christ the King Church, St. Louis, MO
  • September 19-22: Men's Reignited Event, Toccoa, GA
  • September 23: The Rivers Church, Columbia, SC
  • September 30: Sorrento Christian Center, Sorrento, FL

I really hope that some of you will take advantage of this Holy Land tour. I was able to learn a lot from the last one. We plan to have more devotional time and worship on this tour. Pastors Dwayne Higgason, Michael McCarty and myself will be tour hosts. You can find the entire brochure on my web site.

Ronald's Remarks

Next month holds a number of special events. On August 7, Sharon and  I will be married 36 years. The sad fact is that I will be in Guatemala on our anniversary. That is not unusual for our lives. The fact is we have learned to celebrate each other on a regular basis. We will have a special night out together when I return. I am thankful everyday for the wonderful wife God gave me.
The other special event is Sharon is turning ( ? ) on August 18. I can't tell you what a blessing she is to my life. I get a lot of compliments and blessings, but the fact is that she helps me to be all that I can for the Kingdom.
Now is the time and You are the one who can make a difference. You can partner with us to reach out to the people around the world. We can't change everyone, but we can make a difference in at least one life. Who knows how many that person will touch?
Ronald, I want to partner with you to Reach the Nations. Here is my pledge of support. You can be a partner in the Harvest with any monthly support. Your financial support is a blessing to many.
