The Second Sunday of End Time
Happy Reformation Day! October 31 marks the anniversary of the start of the Lutheran Reformation as it was on October 31, 1517 AD that the German monk Martin Luther posted 95 theses, or theological arguments, against unbiblical practices of the Roman Catholic Church on the door of the Wittenburg church. More than 500 years later, we celebrate the true Church’s unfailing reliance on the Word of God (The Bible) and unflinching testimony to it in the face of persecution.
More than 500 years after the Reformation, we know that persecution for being faithful to God's Word will still come to us; we live in the end times. Many will fall away from the faith; Jesus warned us of this. There are those even today who exalt themselves above God; these are some of the many antichrists that exist and war against us. Lord, help us to always love your truth and never believe the lies of Satan, even if they come through seemingly holy, religious looking people. Keep us faithful to your Word, that we would not become unsettled during these end times knowing that you are in control and that you will always prevail over everything evil.
God's Word for this coming Sunday & Monday:
2 Thessalonians 2:1-12
"I rejoiced with those who said to me, 'Let us go to the house of the LORD.'" (Psalm 122:1) I look forward to and rejoice at the thought of worshiping with you!
