The Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Jesus Cares Ministries Worship

Jesus Cares Ministries (JCM) assists congregations in reaching out to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, and communities. Nationwide, JCM programs encourage Bible studies, worship, and fellowship opportunities. This Sunday, we welcome Pastor Joel Gaertner from JCM to lead us through one of their worship services in the hope that we can use it here at Light of the Valley to better serve our community.

We will take a special door offering on Sunday to give to JCM knowing that it will defray the costs of Pastor Gaertner coming out to us and will support their important outreach work.

"I rejoiced with those who said to me, 'Let us go to the house of the LORD.'" (Psalm 122:1) I look forward to and rejoice at the thought of worshiping with you!

      - In Christ, Pastor Jon Klein

If you are away any weekend or work on Sunday mornings, come and worship with us at church on Monday night at 7:00 pm. I hope to see you there!
Sunday Potluck
We will have a potluck after worship on Sunday, September 8. As football season kicks off this weekend, bring your favorite game day dish or any other yummy food that you would like to share with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
Jesus Cares Training
After the potluck on Sunday, September 8, Pastor Joel Gaertner will lead a training session for anyone thinking that they might want to assist in providing Jesus Cares Ministries here at Light of the Valley. We hope you can attend!
Pastoral Call Received
Faith Lutheran Church in Antioch, IL extended a divine call to Pastor Klein to serve as their 3rd pastor – the Pastor of Evangelism & Instruction. Pastor Klein can choose to accept this call or decline (return) it. You are all welcome to give your input to him as he prayerfully considers what to do.
Truth in Love Ministry will host a conference at Mountain View Baptist Church in Layton on Saturday, October 5 from 8:15 am to 3:00 pm to help you renovate how you share your faith. Learn more at their website: tilm.org/conference.

Bible Study: Genesis

The Genesis Bible study continues this Sunday. This book of the Bible is foundational to much of our Christian faith.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend the adult Bible study on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am.

Here are past & current Bible studies to download for your own personal use and to share with others:
A Bible study on Ruth will be next.
