Message from Alumni and
Community Relations
Fresh off of our second annual Homecoming Weekend, we are once again thankful for the opportunity to engage with alumni from across the country and across the world. Our Alumni Awards reception was the feather in our weekend cap! We were honoured to celebrate the achievements of alumni like David Lod (HBComm'03), Liana Frenette (BA'88, BEd), Nathan Lawrence (HBComm'07), David Lau (BAdmin'86), Bill Keeler (BA'98) and Coleman Hell (BA'11).  All demonstrate exceptional leadership, strong community involvement, and unconventional paths to success.

This month, we celebrate the first graduates of the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, who were recently called to the Bar.  Larissa Speak, a member of the charter class, reflects on her experiences and shares with us what she`s up to now.
Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry student,
Julia Ieropoli is the inaugural recipient of the Naysmith Scholar award.  Lakehead University Fellow Dr. John Naysmith, was a former director of the School of Forestry, and founding dean of the Faculty of Forestry.

Now that fall is in full swing, be sure to take in some Thunderwolves action around town (or for our out-of-town alum, via webcast) featuring Wrestling, Women`s Volleyball, Men`s and Women`s Basketball, and of course, Hockey!  Our teams are ready and raring to give you a superb athletics season.

Be sure to pull out your toques and wooly socks and say hello to autumn!
