Message from Alumni and
Community Relations
With spring just around the corner, the end of the school year is almost upon us. We at Alumni House look forward to it as it means that our alumni family will be growing once again!

We are pleased to announce that Lakehead alumna, Lyn McLeod (MA, Psychology) has been named the University's ninth chancellor.  She will be officially installed during the 2017 convocation ceremonies held in June.

The Alumni and Community Relations team would like to congratulate Orillia's new principal, Dr. Dean Jobin-Bevans who will be replacing the outgoing Dr. Kim Fedderson this summer.

In this issue, we share the story of Tommy Sullivan, (BEd'13) who's passion for teaching has taken him on adventures around the world.

The newest faculty newsletter, from the Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies is here! In its inaugural issue, we hear from third-year Applied Bio-Molecular Science student, and director of Superior Science, Nicholas Bel, about this popular science literacy program for children.

We love to celebrate the achievements of our alumni throughout the world, so if you know of someone deserving of an Alumni Award, nomination packages are available now!

Athletics
It has been an absolute blast to welcome so many of you to our varsity away games this year.  We were blown away, community by community, by the number of alumni, friends, and family members who came out to support our beloved Thunderwolves.  We invite you to enjoy our varsity events photo gallery.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

You asked us to get back to you with how you could support our varsity teams.  We listened, we heard you, and we are happy to share with you some options, should you decide to help our dedicated student athletes.  Our options allow you to designate your gift to a specific team, or to our Athletics Program in general.

We look forward to seeing you all again with an even bigger schedule of varsity events!  Keep an eye on your inbox starting in September.  See you next season!
