All of us here at Shasta Land Trust are excited to ramp up youth programs and land conservation in the coming year.

Subject: Let's do something special for the place we love!

Hello Friends,

Across Shasta County, so many of our community's kids are at risk of never experiencing the beauty of our county's great outdoors.

There was a time when this wasn't a concern and children in the United States embraced nature. That has drastically changed. In a recent study by the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, we have never seen such a large disconnect between nature and our youth.

We need our children outdoors now, more than ever. We know that if kids don't get regular, fun and meaningful experiences in nature, while they are young, they are much less likely to care about it when they get older.

We need to ramp up our programs and our land conservation so that the youth in our community have a better chance of enjoying the amazing experiences that nature has to offer - AND we need to save the ranchlands and habitat for the creatures that live there.

Help our community's youth experience our beautiful lands and be a part of preserving Shasta County's pristine outdoors.

By supporting Shasta Land Trust, you will help:
  • Protect wild plants and animals
  • Create ways for our children to experience nature firsthand
  • Safeguard the future of the beautiful lands of northern California for many generations to come, and
  • Contribute to cleaner air and water for our community
Together, we have a chance to conserve five amazing farms and ranches, with associated wildlife habitat, totaling 5,000 acres. Land that can play a critical role in slowing down climate change with innovative farming and ranching practices and woodland conservation.

You would make that possible.

It is important we act now. Opportunities to protect these beautiful spaces do not come along every day. If we act when we have the opportunity, these lands will be protected forever. Otherwise, we risk losing these significant places forever.

We need your support. We cannot do this without your help.

Thank you.
