SAMCEDA is proud to support the 3rd annual citizen engagement/technology conference designed to encourage the leaders of San Mateo County, in the heart of Silicon Valley, to embrace technology for the purpose of increasing public participation and involvement in government. The focus of this year's conference is how technological advances offer local government, schools, non-profits new and more effective tools to provide service. We have planned an exciting day with presentations by thought leaders in both the private and public sector.
New this year is "Mash-Up: Solve for X and Pitch Perfect" where some of the brightest minds in the start-up world of Silicon Valley will offer solutions to some of the challenges in government service. Local government will be asked to share a problem or pain point that technology could help address. GSVlabs, who houses a large number of startups, will put the problem statements out to their startups and they will “pitch” their private industry solution to the government problem during Connect15.
