New Offices for PCO
August 3rd will see the PCO team move to a new office in Plymouth University's Marine Building. Located in room 108 we will have more space, and better facilities so we can continue to provide an excellent Coastal Monitoring Programme.
Our contact details will remain the same.
Control Point Network
The PCO team are still out around the South West renewing our GPS control point network. This month we have installed a new point at Porthallow in Cornwall, to replace one that was lost. If you are interested in any of our points (there are over 190 of them!) witness diagrams are available from our website.
West Bay, Dorset
Our survey team have been carrying out monthly beach surveys external to the Programme at West Bay in Dorset. The team will now be at West Bay every month until next March.
To discuss commissioning survey work not covered by the Programme, please call us on 01752 586155 or email us.
Programme Feedback

We are always interested in hearing your views and feedback on the Programme, but it is now especially important to us as we move into Phase III.

Please spare a few minutes to fill out our survey so we can continue to deliver a relevant and cost-effective Programme.

News from the PCO across the South West
South Devon & Dorset

Late last year we were commissioned by West Dorset District Council to carry out some laser scanning work on the new seawall at Lyme Regis. We worked with our partners at the South East Coastal Monitoring Programme and captured some very high resolution data which was reported in the Western Morning News, Dorset Echo and Bridport News.
Cornwall & Isles of Scilly

The bathymetric LiDAR survey of the Isles of Scilly is complete and we're expecting the data to be delivered very soon! We'll also be taking delivery of 5cm resolution aerial photography captured at the same time as the bathymetric LiDAR. All data will be available for download in due course.
North Devon, Somerset &
the Severn Estuary

LiDAR flying season is due to commence in October and we'll be collecting large amounts of the Severn Estuary. We've also added an additional area to the scheduled flights which will cover Woolacombe.
