The Expedition School Open House

Attend the sessions that make sense for your child(ren’s) grade!  Repeat sessions are offered for parents with more than one student at TES.

LEGO Robotics Interest Meeting and Sign-Up!

We are excited to kick off the 2022 FIRST LEGO LEAGUE robotics season!

Interest Meeting details

When: Tuesday, August 9th 6:30 t0 7:15pm

Where: Maker Space

Who: 4th through 8th grade students and parent(s) and any adults interested in coaching.

FIRST LEGO LEAGUE combines LEGO’s, robots, mission solving, programming, project innovation, core values and more with a theme-based challenge. 

Robotics is open to 4th through 8th graders. Prior experience is not necessary. The FLL season is in the fall, starting in August.   Please note that placement on a team is not guaranteed. We are looking for new coaches!

Anyone who coaches will have a spot for their student on their team.  The spots that we can offer will depend on the number of coaches we have.  No experience is necessary to coach an FLL team.  We have experienced coaches to support you as well as an incredibly supportive FLL community.  Coaches have many resources available.   Come be a part of this rewarding experience!

Odyssey of the Mind Interest Meeting

Odyssey of the Mind General Information Session
When: Thursday, August 11th from 6:30-7:30pm (date same, day of week corrected from Wednesday)
Where: TES Upper School Maker Space
Who: Any interested child in 3rd-8th grade with an adult

Come learn more about Odyssey of the Mind (OM), talk with students and coaches who have previously been a part of the program! OM is an international creative problem-solving program that is based on the idea that creativity is a skill that can be taught and developed with practice.

OM Coaches Needed!
The TES Odyssey of the Mind program is seeking coaches!  Spots cannot be offered on our school teams unless there are enough coaches. If you volunteer as a coach, your own child(ren) will be guaranteed a slot on the team you are coaching. Please email odyssey@tes-ca.com if you think you might be able to coach.  Veteran coaches are here to help you.

What is the Community Association (TESCA)?
TESCA is an organization dedicated to supporting The Expedition School (TES) and its families.  Our organization is based on the premise that TES families’ time, talents, and energy are indispensable ingredients in fostering and maintaining the school’s culture and sense of community.  TESCA’s mission is to act as an organization through which families, teachers, staff, and the larger community can work cooperatively to support and enhance the educational and social experiences of the children and families at The Expedition School.
